Welcome to
Skate Lakeshore
Skate Lakeshore was founded in 1973 as the Belle River District Figure Skating Club, and later became the not-for-profit Skate Lakeshore. The club provides bothPower Skating and Figure Skating programs for ages three and up and is run by a small group of dedicated volunteers.
In 2015, Coach Jennifer Woodrich founded the Skate Lakeshore Silver Stars Synchronized Skating Team, offering skaters the chance to experience the excitement and connection of team-based skating. What started locally now reflects the global rise of synchronized skating — a fast-growing discipline known for its precision, athleticism, and strong team spirit.

“Skate Lakeshore has been such a positive part of our son’s life. My son found a place where he feels confident, challenged, and completely accepted. It’s not just about skating—it’s about belonging. We’ve loved every minute with Skate Lakeshore.”

Our Mission / Philosophy
Where Community, Confidence, and Skating Come Together
Skate Lakeshore is more than just a skating club — it’s a place where friendships are built, confidence grows, and a love for skating is nurtured from the very first glide.
Our programs are designed to support every skater’s journey — from toddlers stepping onto the ice for the first time to teens and adults striving for personal goals. With certified, passionate coaches and a strong sense of community, we’re committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive space where every skater can shine — both on and off the ice.
At the heart of our mission is the belief that skating should be joyful, empowering, and accessible to all. We value progress over perfection, teamwork over trophies, and personal growth as much as performance. Whether your child skates recreationally or competitively, they’ll find encouragement, structure, and community. A place to belong at Skate Lakeshore.
programs built for confidence, community, and progress.
